There are many different models of breadmakers around, and it can be hard to find just the right one for you and your family’s needs.
In our reviews we find that the Panasonic SD YD250 Automatic Bread Maker is certainly one of the best selling machines around, and it offers you a great deal for your money!
What do you get with the Panasonic DS YD250?
Well first off you can bake your loaf in three sizes;
medium at 1 1/2 lbs
large at 2 lbs
extra large at 2 1/2 lbs (this will give you around 20 slices)
It is good to have the option of these sizes as the size of the loaf you want to bake will vary from time to time.
This Panasonic bread maker does everything for you – it mixes, and kneads then the dough rises and finally it’s baked for you. You even have the option of a ‘raisin bake mode’ and this is a super little feature that will let you know when to add in fruits or nuts if you are making this type of bread. This is so useful as it stops the fruit from being crushed whilst the dough is kneaded.
Another feature of this machine is the yeast dispenser which allows just the right amount of yeast to get added to the mix at the right time – so you can be sure of a perfectly baked loaf.
You will also appreciate the fact that you can choose between the rapid bake or the regular bake mode. If you go with the rapid bake you will have a freshly baked loaf of white bread ready in under two hours, or if you prefer wheat or multigrain it will be ready in three hours. Many people do actually prefer the regular bake mode as with the rapid bake the loaf can be a bit more dense than usual – it’s nice that Panasonic offer you the choice though.
Other Features of the Panasonic SD-YD250
- settings to bake white, multigrain, wheat, or french bread as well as quick bread/cakes and pizza dough.
- crust color controls to give you light, medium or dark crusts. There is also a sandwich setting giving you a softer crust.
- 13 hour delay mode so you can set overnight and get up to lovely fresh bread.
- self adjusts to its environment, so no more worrying about the weather.
- easy to clean non-stick coated pan with handle, so removing the baked bread is easy.
- top loading locking lid with an lcd display.
- power interruption protection so if you suffer a short power cut, the baking will resume once power is restored.
Will it go in my kitchen?
The Panasonic is white so will definitely fit in with most kitchen decor. Due to the fact that it has the capacity to make extra large loaves, it is probably one of the larger models. The SD Y250 is 14 inches high, 13 1/2 inches wide and has a depth of 9 inches. The machine weighs in at 15.4 lbs.
You won’t need to worry about the noise as it comes with a 550 watt power output which is enough to bake and knead the bread, but blend nicely into general background noise.
What’s in the box?
When you buy your new Panasonic SD-YD250 you will also get a measuring cup, a measuring spoon, an instruction manual and a recipe book.
The recipe book has over 40 recipes and also includes plenty of tips for baking. As an extra bonus, many of the instructions are illustrated, so even if you have no experience of baking bread you will soon find yourself producing a perfect, freshly baked loaf.
This is what some buyers have said about this Panasonic breadmaker;-
“I highly recommend this one”
“….bread buying days are over”
“best bread maker……..”
